Miracle Child

Ever since I was a little girl up until now my mom always called me her "miracle child". When my mom was twenty-two weeks pregnant with me she started having back pains that progressively got worse. She ended up going to the hospital and when she got there she was told that she was in labor. She was admitted to the hospital and was given medications to stop the labor and pain medications which she received through an IV. She had a reaction to it which made her feeling sick. Afterwards they hooked her up to a fetal monitor to see the status of me. I was normal, and healthy, I just wanted to come into this world a little too early. My mom stayed in the hospital for a couple days to make sure everything was okay. After she left the hospital she had to take medication every two hours to stop contractions for four months (until I was born). Since she was taking medication for so long by the time her due date came I didn't want to be born, so she was induced. After twelve lovely hours she was blessed with me, a nice healthy big baby. If my mom would've gone into labor I would have died, there is no chance of survival for a child that premature.

When I was seven months old something strange happened. I turned gray and became unconscious. My parents took me to the ER. They ran tests on me and couldn't find out what caused this or why it happened. Eventually I came around, no medication was given to me and I was fine. I guess I was just born to live. Nineteen years later I am living a healthy life, problem free.
